A single crowded hour can make an island look very different from an ordinary visit. For this first DropRank activity report, we compared recorded hourly peaks across the same seven-day window and looked at the distribution behind the headline numbers. Three patterns offer different ways to choose your next session.

62 of 64 catalog islands met the minimum of 135 / 168 hourly observations.
01 / The headline spike
A peak is only one part of the week
STEAL THE BRAINROT led the eligible sample by average hourly peak. Its 584,106-player maximum was far above its 16,875 median hourly peak. The mean, 32,817, was nearly twice the median: a sign that the biggest hours pulled the average upward. When deciding when to visit, inspect the history rather than expecting the maximum to describe an ordinary hour.

Read the peak alongside the median. This snapshot establishes the size of the spike, not what caused it.
BUILD A HOUSE recorded a 1,475 mean hourly peak and a 1,509 median, with a maximum of 2,090. Its average was 71% of that maximum—the highest average-to-peak ratio among eligible maps averaging at least 500. That makes it an interesting contrast to the spike-led leader. This ratio summarizes the spread relative to the peak; it does not measure session quality or prove that every hour had similar traffic.

If you prefer a less peak-dominated activity pattern, compare the average and median before relying on a single high number.
FOREST ROAD averaged 488 in its recorded hourly peaks, with a median of 483 and a maximum of 1,035. It was the highest average in our eligible 20–499 band. That selection gives racing fans a smaller-audience listing to investigate without claiming it is a proven hidden gem. Open its official listing and current map page to decide whether the gameplay fits; the activity data alone cannot make that decision.

A smaller audience is a discovery filter. A recommendation about the experience still needs gameplay evidence.
Sorted by mean among eligible maps. These are hourly concurrent-player peaks, not unique players, visits, or ratings. The full catalog comparison is available below as a download.
We used saved hourly peak-concurrency observations from Epic’s public Data API. Every island uses the same UTC window. We keep one valid observation per island and hour, exclude the unfinished hour, and leave missing observations empty. Our catalog is a curated sample of 64 islands; this is not a ranking of every Fortnite island.
Mean and median
The mean sums recorded hourly peaks and divides by recorded hours. The median is the middle recorded peak (or the average of the middle two). Displayed results are rounded to whole players.
Coverage
At least 135 of 168 possible hours are required for comparisons. Missing source observations are not zeroes. Even qualifying maps can have different missing hours, so the comparisons remain approximate.
Selection
The first finding is the largest eligible mean. The second is the largest mean-to-maximum ratio among eligible maps averaging at least 500. The third is the largest eligible mean from 20 to below 500. Editorial interpretation explains the choices; the criteria can be checked in the download.
Within-week change in the download
This compares the last 84 hours with the first 84. Each half needs at least 68 observations and the first half must average at least 100. Weekends, updates and other factors may influence the pattern. It is not a week-over-week growth rate or a forecast.
What these records cannot establish
Reasons for spikes, gameplay quality, unique players, individual retention, and XP outcomes require different evidence.
The largest observed spike was independently rechecked against Epic’s API while preparing this issue.
Outside the comparison: 💎TU MARBELLA💎 PARTY ROYALE (98/168 hours); Steal An Egg 🥚 (0/168 hours).
These files contain public island-level statistics. They contain no DropRank visitor or account information. This issue stays fixed as the live charts continue collecting.
Choose the session behind the number
Use this report to form a shortlist, then choose the gameplay format you actually want. The guides for PILLARS, Piece Control 2v2, and SUPER RAMP offer three different session goals. When you return from playing, a specific review adds something these numbers cannot: how the session felt and who it suited.
