Honest signals.
Better discoveries.
DropRank is an independent Fortnite Creative directory. We curate real island codes and creator identities from Epic’s public Data API, and combine activity data with community experiences.
How we select islands
Our catalog spans multiple Fortnite Creative genres and is drawn from Epic’s genre rankings. It is a curated sample, not every Fortnite island. Descriptions are editorial summaries, not claims that we have personally tested every island. Always check the linked official page for current details. Map covers use original DropRank artwork and text, not screenshots of the islands. Links lead to the creators’ official pages where you can see current gameplay images. We require documented commercial-use permission before adding third-party artwork. Collection and interface icons come from Lucide. Read the icon license notices.
Rankings
Trending compares the latest two consecutive hourly peak-player buckets within our curated catalog. It is not a Fortnite-wide ranking or a live count. Activity data is refreshed in small batches by the scheduled updater and on discovery or island visits, at most once per hour per map; values older than three hours are hidden. Only completed hourly buckets are used. Unavailable data stays unavailable.
Our discovery score combines catalog-wide player standing (40%), genre standing (25%), average session time (25%), and sustained activity across recent hours (10%). Genre comparisons need five fresh islands; smaller groups use the catalog. Tied player counts share their average standing. Session time uses 100 × minutes / (minutes + 20), so longer sessions have diminishing influence. Sustained activity is the mean hourly peak divided by the maximum over up to 24 hours, with at least six completed hours required. Missing optional signals redistribute their weights. At least five fresh catalog islands are needed for an activity score. Search filters do not change the comparison group. Approved fun and replayability ratings are averaged and converted to 100 points. Their weight grows as n / (n + 20), where n is the approved review count: 20 reviews provides half the score when activity is available. Missing activity leaves a community-only score; missing both means we await data. This is editorial formula version 3, a discovery estimate rather than a review average. Top picks sorts this blended score. Hidden gems uses the same score for islands with 1–499 recent hourly peak players; these emerging candidates offer a starting point for discovery. The XP finder separates recent player reports from activity-based discovery. Its report section includes all recent outcomes and orders islands by the number of contributing accounts. Islands with recent activity and no recent XP reports appear in a separate exploration section. Activity scores do not determine XP report order. We never infer XP rewards or AFKability from player counts or session length. New arrivals means newly added to DropRank, not newly published in Fortnite. Low effort filters Epic’s casual tag, which helps identify a more relaxed play style. With friends includes our combat and party categories.
Community reports and moderation
XP status uses reports from the last 72 hours. We show no status before three reports. At least 60% good-XP responses means reported working; otherwise reports are mixed. This is a community signal, not verification. Reports can differ between players.
Reviews enter a moderation queue before publication. We reject spam, harassment, private information, advertising, and exploit instructions. Only approved scores count. A verified DropRank account can submit one review and one current XP report per island. Reviews use the account’s profile name. Rate limits apply to both network activity and account contributions.
